More Than 100 to Paint Mural in D.C. Neighborhood
Associated Press, 8/15/09
“Organizers say that over the past two months, D.C. artists have been helping a group of young people from the D.C. Commission on Arts and Humanities’ Summer Youth Employment Program create “From Edgewood to the Edge of the World.”

The public art nonprofit Albus Cavus says the almost-complete 300-foot-wide piece serves as the mural’s anchor. The group says that at the event Saturday other artists will expand it by another 300 feet with their own creation.

It’s FREE! Mural Painting
Washington Post, 8/15/09
Mural painting If you’ve traveled along Metro’s Red Line near the Rhode Island Avenue station lately, you might have seen it: a wall 500 feet long and two stories tall in the process of being turned into the largest mural of its kind in the city. On Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., more than 100 artists will add to it at a mural jam. The public can help paint and enjoy live music, DJs, food and activities for kids. The jam is sponsored by the D.C. government and the nonprofit group Albus Cavus, which aims to beautify neighborhoods by creating works of art. Rhode Island Avenue Shopping Center, 680 Rhode Island Ave. NE (Metro: Rhode Island). 732-236-5651 or http://www.createpublicartdc.ning.com.”
